Cosmic brand guidelines
The following guidelines enable you to leverage the Cosmic brand without having to negotiate legal agreements for each use.
Our brand
When using the Cosmic wordmark, logo, or other brand assets, provide plenty of space around them. Cosmic is always referred to with a capital ‘C’ and is no longer attributed to Cosmic JS or Cosmic.js as it once was.
You may refer to Cosmic as Cosmic CMS in certain cases to provide greater clarity about what Cosmic is and what it provides. You may also refer to Cosmic as Cosmic Headless CMS if you need to provide the additional clarity during a comparison to traditional monolith CMSs or for ease of communication.
Cosmic wordmark
When placing our wordmark or logo on different surfaces, it’s important to use the right asset type to fit the color or surface it appears on.
Our primary logo is the two-tone wordmark which has both light and dark variants. When presenting on white or light gray surfaces, our primary wordmark should be used. When placed on black or dark gray surfaces, our primary dark wordmark should be used.
When a surface is colored or contains complex visuals, for example when overlaying our logo on an image, our secondary monotone wordmarks should be used.
Cosmic logo
For when you’re unable to place our full wordmark, you can utilise our logomark. This is the best way to refer to the Cosmic brand and product in a concise visual way. Use in good judgement and always ensure it’s clear that the logo is connected with the Cosmic product to prevent any ambiguity with your audience.
Cosmic brand colors
Our Cosmic blue is utilised across both light and dark interfaces as it provides optimal contrast across both. In situations where it’s not suitable, we have an alternative brighter Cosmic blue that contains greater lightness.
On dark interfaces, our Cosmic Light Gray provides a perfect level of contrast when set on our dark background without creating the white dispersed ghosting you often see with pure white on pure black. For light text we generally opt for a slightly off-black Cosmic Dark Gray to provide great readability but prevent too stark of a contrast.
